The ‘Universal Cheat Code,’ SHINee’s KEY (SM Entertainment), announced the release of the second regular album, ‘Gasoline,’ on August 30th.
Comprised of 11 songs in various genres, including the single, ‘Gasoline,’ this album will be a great chance to experience the unique music style of KEY.
Especially, this album is a KEY’s solo comeback in 11 months following his first solo mini album, ‘BAD LOVE,’ released in last year September, and a new regular album in three years and nine months after ‘FACE,’ his first regular album released in November 2018. The album will show diverse sides of KEY, who has been active in various fields while promoting as a SHINee member and solo artist, demonstrating excellent skills and multiple charms.
Single ‘Gasoline’ – Very addictive hip-hop dance number! Captured KEY’s boldness + confidence!
The single, ‘Gasoline,’ is a hip-hop dance number with a glamorous and imposing brass sound, provocative drum sound, and concise and very addictive chants. The hit-song maker, KENZIE, collaborated with KEY again following the first mini album’s single, ‘BAD LOVE.’ The lyrics, partially written by KEY, compared KEY’s confident aspiration to pave his own path to the explosive firepower of gasoline, revealing KEY’s overflowing confidence and ambition.
The album also includes three other songs which the lyrics are personally written by KEY. ‘G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time)’ is a pop ballad song that captures worries about becoming an adult. ‘I Can’t Sleep’ is an up-tempo pop song that shows how one spends the night suffering from insomnia in a witty, everyday language. ‘Proud’ is an R&B genre song written by KEY autobiographically, inspired by a passage in her mother’s parenting diary. Great responses are expected from these songs.
'Guilty Pleasure' is a synth wave genre song that creates a dreamy atmosphere. The lyrics delicately depicts a situation where one can’t help but get drawn to instinct despite knowing that it is an exhaustive relationship that will end soon. The disco-pop genre song 'Delight' expresses the unfamiliar feelings one experiences for the first time after falling in love with unrealistic yet bubbly lyrics.
'Bound' captures the will to go beyond one's limits and features KEY’s low toned vocal chanting. 'Burn' compares a relationship that only hurts each other to a burning fire and highlights KEY’s vocals that delicately expressed the sad emotions.
The album also includes 'Villain,' which features NCT's JENO, who presents unique chemistry with KEY, ‘Ain’t Gonna Dance,’ which expresses a sense of close but far distance between two people attracted to each other, and ‘Another Life,’ which is an electronic pop genre song previously presented through ‘2021 Beyond LIVE – KEY: ‘Groks IN THE KEYLAND.’ All 11 songs of various charms in the album are expected to fascinate music fans completely.[1]
