"Everyday is Taemin's day!" —Taemin
Lee Tae-min (이태민), better known by his mononym Taemin (태민), is a South Korean singer, dancer, actor, promotional model, and radio host. He is the maknae, main dancer, and sub-vocal of SHINee.
Biography[]
Taemin was born on July 18th, 1993. He was discovered at the 2005 S.M Open Weekend Audition Casting. Some time later, he officially joined SM Entertainment as a trainee. He has one older brother his name is lee taesun born (1992) .Taemin debuted as the main dancer of SHINee in 2008, at 14 years old. His young age and youthful appearance caused him to be the topic of several variety shows. In 2009, he attended Cheongdam High School.[2] In the early stages of his career, he took on several acting roles, starting with the MBC comedy Tae Hee, Hye Kyo, Ji Hyun. He followed this with a voice acting role in The Outback and an appearance in Dating Agency: Cyrano.
In August 2014, Taemin released his debut solo mini album, ACE. He released his first studio album, Press It, two years later. In June 2016, he made his Japanese debut with the mini album Sayonara Hitori. He held his first solo concert at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo in July 2017, and his first Korean concert, OFF-SICK, a month later. He also appeared in the Japanese drama Final Life: Even if You Disappear Tomorrow. In October 2017, he released his second studio album, MOVE. The choreography for the title track went viral and sparked a trend known as "Move disease". The album's repackage, MOVE-ing, was released in December.
Taemin began his first Japan concert tour, SIRIUS, in September 2018. He released a Japanese studio album, TAEMIN, a few months later. In February 2019, he released his second Korean mini album, WANT. He held a concert, titled T1001101, shortly after. In June, he embarked on his first Japan arena tour, X™. He released the Japanese mini album FAMOUS in August. The same month, he debuted as a member of the supergroup SuperM.
Taemin released his third studio album in 2020. It was released in two parts, Never Gonna Dance Again : Act 1 and Never Gonna Dance Again : Act 2. In May 2021, he released his third mini album, Advice, shortly prior to enlisting in the military, where he served a a member of the military band. In January 2022, it was announced that Taemin would transfer to public service due to depression and panic disorder. He was discharged from the military on April 4, 2023. In October 2023, he released his fourth mini album, Guilty. He held a concert titled METAMORPH in December.
In April 2024, Taemin's contract with SM Entertainment expired and he joined BPM Entertainment for his solo activities. He remained signed with SM for group activities with SHINee.[3] In August 2024, he released his fifth mini album, ETERNAL,[4] and embarked on his first world tour, Ephemeral Gaze.[5]
