SHINee’s ONEW (SM Entertainment) is releasing his first mini album, ‘VOICE’, on December 5.
This album is the first solo album of ONEW and lists seven charming lyrical songs including the title track, ‘Blue.’ It will be a chance to experience ONEW’s sweet voice in a warm atmosphere.
Rocoberry, the outstanding indie duo who created a number of famous OSTs and had collaborated with ONEW through SM ‘STATION’, participated in the production, alongside Kenzie, the hit song maker, ZigZag Note, the famous team of composers, Hwang Hyun of MonoTree, the famous producing group, and the poet Won Tae Yeon to elevate the quality of the album while ONEW also participated in lyric writing for two songs to mesmerize music fans.
For ONEW has been recognized for charming voice and excellent singing ability through the songs he performed as a member of SHINee and various collaborations including drama OSTs such as ‘In Your Eyes’ and ‘Moonlight’, ‘Starry Night’ which he performed with the singer-songwriter Lee Jin Ah, and ‘Lullaby’ which he performed a duet with Rocoberry, the songs of this album are raising more expectations.
ONEW’s Sweet Voice! ‘Blue’ – Old Pop Jazz Style R&B Title Song!
The title song, ‘Blue’, is an old pop jazz style R&B song with interesting tension play. The lyrics that sound like a soliloquy in a musical compared the lonely feeling with the blue sea, giving the feeling of seeing a movie.
‘Your Scent’ which is a pop ballad song fit for the winter season featuring the collaboration of vocals and strings, ‘Under The Starlight’ which is a ballad track that combines the warm acoustic sound with ONEW’s calm and intense vocals, and ‘Sign’ which is a medium pop song about a clumsy confession also capture ears.
The two songs, ‘Illusion’ which is an acoustic ballad that reflected the regrets and yearnings about the long-time love in the lyrics and ‘Shine On You’ which is performed by only guitar and vocals to present the sensibilities of the youth on a quiet fall day draw attention to the lyrics partially written by ONEW, and the ballad song, ‘Timepiece’, presents the unique voice color of ONEW. All seven songs will let listeners feel various charms of ONEW.[2]
